Labrums’ Hot Fudge Sauce

Janece Labrum (wife of the Hoffmans’ Bishop when they lived in Carrollton) shared this recipe with Kathy at a homemaking night in which the sisters shared ideas for Family Home Evening treats.


1 can sweetened condensed milk
⅓ C milk
½ C butter/margarine


1½ C chocolate chips
½ tsp vanilla extract

Combine dairy ingredients in the top of a double boiler and heat through until butter melts, stirring occasionally. Turn off heat and add chocolate & vanilla. Stir over the hot water until chips melt and mixture is smooth. Serve warm over fruit, ice cream, etc. Store leftovers in fridge.

Yields: about 3½ cups

Time to make: 15 min
